Hello, Blakley Harbor Park is one of our favorite on the island. The future of the park should take into account the planned harbor cleanup from historical mill contamination, potential fish passage improvements where streams and roads intersect, and the potential removal of a remnant concrete dam on Islandwood property. Over time, fish habitat in the local watersheds that feed Blakley Harbor could be greatly enhanced. The lagoon at the harbor presents a challenge. Improve habitat by removing riprap and the path to the current bridge and the bridge (which are all threatened by King Tides)? Have no bridge at all? Or have a new bridge (on piles) that spans the water after the path and riprap removal allowing maximum habitat restoration and public access. That would be ideal (and expensive), but a bridge is the highlight of public access at the park. Thanks for the opportunity to comment.
